There is nothing like walking through the woods on a crisp winter day.  The crunch under your feet is the only sound that breaks the silence– that and the dozens of great conversations you will be having as you walk past frozen waterfalls and streams!

How the Frozen Waterfalls Hike/Bonfire/Mulled Wine Hudson Valley Day Trip works:

• Register and we will send you very specific info on where to meet and what to bring.
• You may take Metro-North or drive to meet the group at the Poughkeepsie train station at 10:52am.
• Your guide will pick you up in Poughkeepsie and bring you to all the activities.
• You will be back on the 5:50pm train at the latest.

Itinerary:

• 10:52am pick up at Poughkeepsie train station
• Travel to Awosting Falls
• After hike we will stop for lunch at the Hudson Valley’s #1 pizzeria, Rino’s
• Following lunch it is off to our private campsite for a huge bonfire, mulled wine, hot apple cider, cider donuts and real hot cocoa
• Depart for train

How hard is the hike?  We will be on mostly carriage paths (flat gravel roads).  There are some slight inclines.  There  may be patches of snow or ice.  The entire walk will be around 2 miles depending on the trails that are accessible.  Mostly a level 3 out of 10.  If there is ice we will have micro spikes for you to use.

Cost: $95 ($85 VIP Members) includes: transportation to and from the Poughkeepsie train station, park fees, guide fees, mulled wine, hot cider, hot cocoa, donuts, taxes and gratuities.

Not included: Lunch, train fare

Can I come alone? Yes, most guests do! It’s a great way to meet new people.

Dress Code:  Dress for the weather check the National Weather Service ONLY https://www.weather.gov/. New Paltz, NY location.

Ages: 21+

What if the weather impacts the event?  We will determine if the event will happen about 24 hours prior to the start.  You will be notified as soon as we know.

Illness Protocols/Refunds 

In accordance with current city and state protocols vaccination status or masks are not mandatory for this event.  However, we do ask that participants act in a responsible manner and do not attend if feeling ill, showing symptoms or have been recently exposed to any of the current illnesses. Mask wearing is optional unless the venue or city has mandated that.  Everyone should respect the comfort levels of others as we transition into this next phase of socializing.

This event is nonrefundable unless canceled.  If you have tested positive for Covid or are sick with any ailment  that prohibits you from attending, we will do our best to provide you with credits for select future events with a copy of your positive test results or doctor’s note. Credits may or may not equal the cost of the event missed and may only be applied to events selected by NYSN.
