Join us for a special Happy Hour at The Playwright Irish Tavern on 35th street and then stay to watch all the fun, drama and action unfold as the Democratic Candidates for President square off for the next debate. Arrive at 7pm for socializing and cocktails at the bar, you can also grab a bite to eat with others in the group then sit back and catch all the action on dozens of large monitors with crystal clear sound.
This event is first and foremost meant to be a social gathering that is open to all members and friends to become more educated on all the potential candidates. This is NOT a forum to bash, trash or start your own debate with others at the party. If you attend all we ask is that if you feel strongly about any candidate you keep your comments educated and dignified. If you feel like you may get too passionate and cause arguing we would appreciate if you watched at home!
Here is how it works: The doors will open at 7pm for the 2nd floor bar area. We will have space set aside for socializing, eating and drinking. Come for Happy Hour and The Debates or just Happy Hour or just The Debates, it's up to you. Either way it will be a fun evening.
Do I have to be a Democrat to attend? NO. NO. NO! This event is open to all to get an idea of what the candidates are all about. We will have parties for the Debates with the president as well.
Cost: $5- pay ahead or at the door. This covers the room rental and your hosts food and drink
FOLLOWING THE DEBATES THE BAR WILL REMAIN OPEN TO OUR GUESTS FOR SOCIALIZING.
Can I come alone? Yes, 98% of those attending will be coming on their own.
Is there food available? Yes they have an awesome menu, separate checks no problem. If you wish to sit and eat with the group. Please arrive at 7pm.
Do I need a ticket? Unless otherwise instructed, if you registered and paid for this event or registered with a voucher your name will be on a list at the door. If you register within 3 hours of the event it is best to bring proof of payment. If registering with a voucher follow the instruction on the voucher. If you registered and paid a confirmation email will be sent to you when you registered and on the day of the event.
Dress Code: At all events we ask that you use your best judgement based on the event. There are never jackets and ties required unless specifically stated. Keep it neat, be yourself and look your best.
How will I find the group? We will send you a confirmation email with exact locations, contact info and names of those who are hosting the event when you register. We will send follow up emails as we get closer, usually the night before or morning of.
Ages: 21+ Most of our events attract 20’s -40’s although some events can skew younger or older (50’s) depending on the event. Some events are clearly age specific as indicated. If this is an issue for you contact Dave at the address below and we can usually give you a very accurate idea of what to expect.
Who Comes to These?: Our activities attract NY Professionals from all backgrounds and professions who are looking to expand their social circles. You will also find others who are looking to learn something, network for business, try something they have never done before or enjoy something they love doing but can’t get their friends to do. There may also be some people looking to find that someone special who share a passion for the same activities (but don’t make this the sole reason you come out).
