The Museum of Food and Drink Group Trip and Tasting

Description:

The Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) is a new kind of museum that brings the world of food to life with exhibits you can taste, touch, and smell. We inspire public curiosity about food, what it means, and how it connects with the world around us.  Join us as we explore their latest exhibit Chow: Making the Chinese American Restaurant celebrating the birth and evolution of Chinese American cuisine, tracing its 170-year history and sparking conversation about food culture, immigration, and what it means to be American.

How it works:

  • Register below and you will meet our event host at The Museum and go in as a group.
  • Once inside you will enjoy a meal in the culinary studio and then you can explore the museum on your own.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Curtain of Many: Immerse yourself in this larger-than-life installation of 7,250 Chinese takeout boxes. Each one represents seven of the nearly 50,000 Chinese American restaurants in the country.

• Menu Timeline: View a stunning collection of over 100 menus from 1910 to 2016. See how the cuisine evolved as immigration laws changed.

• Tasting at the KitchenAid Culinary Studio: Enjoy a chef-designed tasting that highlights Chinese American culinary techniques.
