Culinary Institute of America Private Lunch & Dinner + Vanderbilt Mansion & Winery Tour


This is a very special opportunity where you will dine at 2 of the C.I.A.'s amazing restaurants, enjoy a historic mansion tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion and participate in a wine tasting at Millbrook Winery (optional)  in the beautiful Hudson Valley.

The Culinary Institute of American is recognized as one of the leading Culinary Schools in the world!  With alumni like Anthony Bourdain, Todd English, Rocco DiSpirito and Micheal Mina it speaks for itself.  Overlooking the Hudson Valley and river in Hyde Park, New York, it is one of the most amazing dining experiences you will ever experience!  For lunch you will get to experience private dining at the American Bounty Farm to Table Restaurant and for dinner we will have a private dining room at one of their best restaurants; Bocuse. Menu is listed at the bottom of this posting.

How it works:

  • You will take the 9:45am Metro North train from Grand Central or points north to Poughkeepsie, NY.  You may also drive to meet the group at the train station (train fare is not included because of this)
  • Your guide will meet you at Poughkeepsie and take you to enjoy lunch in the private dining room at American Bounty.
  • After lunch we will travel 5 minute up the road to the historic Vanderbilt Mansion, one of the last mansions built in the Gilded Age.
  • Following our tour the entire group will enjoy a guided tour of the Millbrook Winery where you can also participate in an optional wine tasting ($15).
  • After our winery visit we will return to the C.I.A. for a delicious dinner  at Bocuse, the French restaurant inspired by Paul Bocuse.
  • When we are finished with dinner we will bring you back to the train station where you will likely be on the 8:50pm train. (maybe the 7:50pm if possible)

If you love good food, this trip is a new years must!

Cost $230 ($220 for VIP members) includes: choice of appetizer or salad or soup, entree, dessert, coffee, tax and gratuity at American Bounty for lunch. The guided tour of the Vanderbuilt Mansion and Millbrook Winery plus choice of appetizer, salad or soup, entree, dessert tax and gratuity  at Bocuse French Restaurant.  Transportation to and from the train station and your guide meal is also factored into your cost.

Not Included: train fare, alcoholic beverages at either restaurant, extra side dishes, the wine tasting. (since not everyone drinks)

Can I come alone?  Yes, 98% of those attending this event will likely register on their own. You welcome to bring as many non member guests, friends & co workers as you’d like, just make sure to register for the number of people that you want below. Our staff will be ready to greet you and introduce you to others whether you are on your own or with guests.

Do I need a ticket?  Unless otherwise instructed, if you registered and paid for this event or registered with a voucher your name will be on a list with Dave when you arrive.  We will send confirmation when you register and just before the trip.

Dress Code:  At all events we ask that you use your best judgement based on the event. There are never jackets and ties required unless specifically stated.  Keep it neat, be yourself and look your best always.  It will likely be cold so dress for the weather

How will I find the group?  We will send you a confirmation email with exact locations, contact info and names of those who are hosting the event when you register for the event and send follow up emails as we get closer.

Ages: 21+  Most of our events attract 20’s -40’s although some events can skew younger or older (50’s) depending on the event.
